What is Safehands?
We are a specialist company providing family contact supervision and also accommodation and floating support packages for young people, particularly those leaving care. With over 30 years experience of working in all areas of social welfare and a proven track record with a high success rate in supporting the most difficult of youngsters through this transitional stage in their lives.We specialise in:
- Supporting young people with accommodation and support in independent living using the pathway planning process.
These include: 16+ Care Leavers, Unaccompanied Asylum Seekers and Young Single Parents. We have a range of packages and also offer bespoke services to meet the young person's needs. We also offer a court escort service. - Family Contact Supervision Service.
This can include: Provision of our own contact centre which is suitable for families of varying needs, family contacts in a community setting or other suitable venue. We can also provide transport to and from contact venues if required. - Access to emergency accommodation and support 365 days a year.
- Bespoke Services not normally covered in standard care.
We work in partnership with various local authorities and support agencies including Connexions, Youth Services and Social Services to ensure success. Other partners include agencies involved in Education Welfare, Sexual Health, Mental health, Housing Support, Schools, Colleges and Further Education, Behaviour Support, Youth Offending Offices and Local Health Services.
We use the nationalised standard Individual Placement Agreement
