Accommodation

Here at Safehands we believe everyone is individual and has individual needs, because of this we have a range of accommodation choices to meet the needs of the young people we support.

Group housing for up to 6 young people (Coming Soon)
This can be an ideal choice for young people who may suffer from loneliness and isolation that living alone in their own property can cause. It gives them the opportunity to develop independent living skills in their own self contained accommodation whilst being able to build their own support network in an environment that is supportive and understanding of their needs whilst also developing positive peer group relations and increasing social and self care skills. It is often a good first step for some of our young people who can then move on to single person accommodation before the end of their placement with us.

Single Sex Shared housing
This is ideally suited to young people who are nervous about living alone, are worried about loneliness and isolation, but who are making steps into employment and further education, they gain independent living skills and also have the added support of a peer in the same situation, hopefully gaining friendships for life and confidence to move forward successfully.

Single Person Housing
This is available generally in an area of choice for the young person, it is ideally suited for those who have the confidence to live alone and also have a support network. Also we understand some young people are not suited to sharing accommodation and prefer to be totally independent with just a little support. Support packages are available for a varying degree of needs and can be bespoke.

Emergency Accommodation and Support
This can be accessed at anytime and is offered at a flat rate with limited support. However support packages can be added to meet the needs of the Young person at an additional fee. We have 2 types of emergencey package:
  • Emergency support 1: This is seen as a temporary measure while Young people are waiting to be placed in a self contained property and or referred on to a suitable provider. The accommodation is a fairly centrally located hotel, with basic provision and use of Kitchen and other facilities. Friendly, welcoming staff are on hand to support young people with basic needs. It is also possible for Young People to be tagged from this address if needed.
  • Emergencey support 2 : In a single occupancey flat or house with a weekly fire health and safety check carried out.
